Google Bard’s Latest Update

Google has announced a significant expansion of its AI tool, Bard, introducing new features and broadening its availability to more languages and countries. The update aims to enhance user creativity and productivity, allowing them to interact with Bard in over 40 languages, including Arabic, Chinese, German, Hindi, and Spanish. The tool is now accessible in many more regions, including Brazil and across Europe.

New Features

Customized Responses

Bard now offers more customized responses to better suit user needs. Users can listen to Bard’s responses, which can be particularly helpful for hearing the correct pronunciation of a word or listening to a poem or script. This feature is available in over 40 languages.

Users can also adjust the tone and style of Bard’s responses, choosing from five different options: simple, long, short, professional, or casual. For instance, Bard can assist in writing a marketplace listing for a vintage armchair, and then the user can shorten the response using the drop-down. This feature is currently live in English and will soon be expanded to other languages.

Productivity Boost

Four new features are also being launched to enhance productivity:

  1. Pin and Rename Conversations: Users can now pin and rename their conversations with Bard. This feature allows users to revisit prompts and pick up recent conversations from the sidebar. This feature is now live in over 40 languages.
  2. Export Code to More Places: Given the growing interest in using Bard for coding tasks, a new feature has been added that allows users to export Python code to Replit, in addition to Google Colab. This feature is now live in over 40 languages.
  3. Share Responses with Friends: It is now easier to share part or all of a Bard chat with your network. With shareable links, users can share their ideas and creations with others. This feature is live in over 40 languages.
  4. Use Images in Your Prompts: In line with the announcement at I/O about integrating Google Lens into Bard, users can now upload images with prompts, and Bard will analyze the photo to assist. This feature is currently live in English, and will soon be expanded to other languages.

Google’s Bard is designed to augment human curiosity and imagination, helping users explore new possibilities and get their ideas off the ground. With these new features and expanded availability, Bard is set to become an even more powerful tool for creativity and productivity.
